If you click on it you should be able to open the WinTV programs. It just freaked me out when it came on, because I’d never seen it on before. Once installation finishes, you should be able to use the program. The only thing that would make me upgrade the middleware and driver is if they added a “wake on ir remote button press”, hsuppauge it sounds like they will never do that.

If video does show up, winttv device is good. If you get the same problem, the hardware may be defective and require repair.

If the channels are scanned in properly, they should be listed in the Suite Manager. If it is not listed, this would normally indicate that the hardware was not recognized by the system and the drivers were unable to install. First make sure that the IR Remote software is installed and running in the system tray.
